We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Scaffolder to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and dismantling scaffolding on various construction sites to provide safe working platforms for workers at different heights. As a scaffolder, you will work closely with other tradespeople, supervisors, and site managers to ensure that scaffolding is erected efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry regulations.
Scaffolding is a critical component in the construction and maintenance of buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure, and the role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, construction methods, and structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Scaffolding Installation and Dismantling:

Assemble and install scaffolding systems on construction sites as per the project specifications and safety standards.

Ensure scaffolding structures are stable, safe, and meet load requirements, including for both workers and materials.

Dismantle scaffolding at the completion of projects, ensuring it is safely removed without damage to the surrounding areas.

Adjust scaffolding configurations and heights as needed to accommodate changes in work requirements or site conditions.
Safety Compliance:

Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, harnesses, gloves, and safety boots.

Conduct regular safety checks of scaffolding to ensure its integrity, strength, and compliance with OSHA or local safety standards.

Identify and report potential safety hazards on the worksite to prevent accidents or injuries.

Ensure the scaffolding is erected in a way that minimizes risk to workers and the public, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
Quality Control and Inspections:

Inspect scaffolding components (e.g., tubes, couplers, boards) before installation to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects.

Monitor the condition of scaffolding during use to ensure it remains safe and stable, making necessary adjustments as required.

Document inspections and maintenance activities to ensure a record of all work completed.
Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with site managers, supervisors, and other construction personnel to coordinate scaffolding requirements based on project timelines and worker needs.

Communicate effectively with the team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, on time, and according to specifications.

Provide feedback to the site manager or supervisor regarding scaffolding needs or safety concerns.
Materials Handling:

Transport scaffolding materials (e.g., poles, boards, couplers) to the site and ensure that all equipment is organized and ready for installation.

Ensure scaffolding materials are stored properly to avoid damage and maintain easy access for use.

Handle heavy materials carefully to minimize risk of injury or damage to equipment.
Maintenance and Repairs:

Perform basic maintenance on scaffolding equipment, including cleaning, checking for wear and tear, and replacing damaged components.

Assist with the repair or adjustment of scaffolding structures when necessary, under the direction of supervisors or lead scaffolders.
