Application Scientist (RT PCR based Molecular Diagnostics) - 1
Applications are open for the position of Science and Technology Manager for Indigenization of Diagnostics Program at C-CAMP
The newly launched project called Indigenisation of Diagnostics (InDx), anchored at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (CCAMP), aims to build a robust supply-chain network of Indian MSMEs capable of producing reagents that go into a testing kit as well as manufacture testing kits. The project involves identifying bottlenecks in the supply-chain network, short-falls in quality levels and gaps in the ability of these MSMEs to scale-up. The project would hand-hold MSMEs in meeting both quality and quantity such that the network would be able to put together a million indigenous kits a day.
Responsibilities:Design, plan and execute laboratory activities towards quality testing of RT-PCR based kits/reagents/components for SARS CoV2
Develop protocol and execute comparability and validation studies for RT-PCR based kits/reagents/components for SARS CoV2
Design primers/probes for RT-PCR based diagnostic tests
Perform functional assays for quality testing of reagents and components used in Molecular Diagnostics
Draft/Review Results, Reports, Tech Transfer documents, Workflows and SOPs
Ensure adoption of best practices for Quality testing and development of Molecular Diagnostics
Manage procurements for laboratory activities in coordination with Lab Scientists
Coordinate and collaborate with InDx CoEs on quality testing
Train Scientists on RT-PCR and other molecular assays
Provide Management updates
Any other as assigned
Education / Experience:
Ph.D. in Molecular Biology with deep domain expertise and hands-on experience in the RT PCR technology platform for molecular diagnostics.
Should have at least 2 years of post-Ph.D. working experience in development and validation of RT-PCR based molecular diagnostic Assays. Experience with RT-PCR based test for SARS CoV2 will be preferred
Expertise and knowledge to develop and validate RT-PCR based assays for molecular diagnostics is required
Must understand the nuances of Primer/probe design and must be adept at using software tools for in-silico design
Must be good at DoE for Optimization of run conditions and analysis
Should have a working understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Should have a flair for teaching and must train scientists and users in RT PCR
Must be meticulous and keep extensive, regulatory quality records of all tasks and lab work
QA Scientist (Molecular Diagnostics) - 1

Responsibilities:Establish Quality Management System for the INDx program and laboratory activities
Draft Work flows and SOPs to ensure compliance to Quality Systems
Manage Validation and Calibration of instruments.
Review and approve test results and reports
Train Laboratory Scientists on QMS and Compliance
Train Scientists on National and International guidelines on molecular diagnostics e.g. RT PCR diagnostic test for SARS CoV2
Provides support on Method and Kit validations
Provide Management updates
Any other as assigned
Education / Experience: M.Sc./M.Tech. in Biotechnology/Pharmacy or related stream with at least 8-10 years of experience in a QA role with Molecular Diagnostic/Biopharma Company.
Must be an expert in Quality Management Systems and ability to establish the systems and processes in the lab.
Must have the experience of managing ISO/NABL/Regulatory Audits
Must be able to train lab Scientists and ensure Compliance to the Quality Systems
