A Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for individuals, assets, and company property. Security Officers play a critical role in enforcing company security policies, monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to incidents, and maintaining order on company premises. The position requires vigilance, integrity, and the ability to respond effectively to security threats and emergencies.
The Security Officer must operate in line with the organization's internal security rules, as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Duties also include the administration of security-related activities and the implementation of preventative safety measures. This role is essential to safeguarding employees, visitors, physical property, and sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:

Security Services and Protection:

Provide security services to individuals, staff members, company visitors, and assets as per company policies and guidelines.

Guard entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access and ensure only permitted individuals are allowed into restricted areas.

Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to check for security breaches, unsafe conditions, or suspicious activities.

Monitoring and Surveillance:

Monitor and analyze real-time footage from CCTV cameras and other surveillance systems.

Identify unusual behavior, potential threats, or criminal activities using surveillance tools.

Maintain regular inspections of security equipment and report malfunctions or deficiencies.

Incident Response and Reporting:

Respond quickly and efficiently to alarms, emergency situations, or reported incidents.

Manage security threats such as theft, vandalism, fire, workplace violence, and other safety risks.

Notify appropriate emergency services when necessary and provide assistance until professional help arrives.

Prepare detailed incident reports and log all security-related activities accurately and promptly.

Compliance and Security Administration:

Enforce company security protocols and rules without bias or negligence.

Ensure that all visitors and employees adhere to badge, ID, and access control procedures.

Assist in implementing new security procedures, training programs, and emergency response drills.

Maintain knowledge of current security threats and assist in risk assessments and security planning.

Asset Protection and Safety:

Protect the company’s physical and intellectual property from theft, sabotage, or damage.

Inspect facilities for potential fire hazards, safety violations, or equipment malfunctions.

Help enforce fire safety regulations and assist in evacuations when required.

Secure sensitive or restricted areas by maintaining tight access control.

Public Interaction and Customer Service:

Greet and direct visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

Provide assistance to employees and guests with questions, directions, or concerns related to safety.

Act as a visible deterrent to criminal or unsafe behavior.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency personnel, or private security teams when needed.

Work closely with security supervisors and company management to address and resolve security concerns.
