Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Senior Account Officer to join our finance team. This senior-level position demands a candidate with extensive hands-on experience in accounting and finance, including leadership skills to manage accounting functions efficiently and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in accounting software, GST laws, financial regulations, and a proven ability to make independent decisions while managing end-to-end accounting responsibilities. As a Senior Account Officer, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations, mentoring junior staff, and supporting strategic financial planning and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and trial balance preparation.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports submitted to senior management.
2. Leadership & Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of accountants and finance executives.

Allocate tasks and responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines.

Conduct regular performance reviews and training sessions to enhance team skills.
3. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:

Ensure compliance with GST laws, Income Tax regulations, Companies Act, and other relevant financial legislation.

Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits and assessments.

Monitor changes in financial regulations and advise the management on their impact.
4. Accounting Software & Systems Management:

Manage and optimize the use of accounting software and ERP systems.

Troubleshoot issues related to financial software and liaise with IT or vendors for updates.

Implement system controls and improvements to enhance data accuracy and processing efficiency.
5. Budgeting & Financial Analysis:

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management for cost control and profitability improvement.
6. Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Monitor and control accounts receivable and payable cycles.

Approve vendor payments and ensure timely collections.

Manage cash flow and working capital requirements.
7. Independent Decision-Making:

Take ownership of accounting projects and special assignments independently.

Make informed decisions regarding financial transactions, accounting treatments, and compliance issues.

Resolve discrepancies and financial irregularities efficiently.
8. Documentation & Record Keeping:

Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including vouchers, invoices, bank statements, and audit files.

Ensure proper documentation for all accounting processes to facilitate transparency and audit readiness.
