Job Description
The Senior Engineer – Mechanical will be based in Hyderabad, India. Candidate will contribute towards mechanical design Nextracker’s tracking solutions. Candidate will develop CAD models, component drawings, perform FEA and test the components in testing lab to meet ensure minimum product standard before release to product application. The candidate is also expected to have creative abilities to envision new designs and new product architectures. The engineer will work closely with structural engineering team to consolidate design efforts.

- Designing of solar tracker product components as per standards to meet product goals
- Assist in various DFQ/DFR (Design for Quality / Design for Reliability) activities for product development
- Create parts & 3D assemblies in Solidworks and carry out FEA studies to validate product to meet minimum product standards
- Apply quality tools (like FMEA, RCA, PPAP, FAI etc.) to ensure product quality from design to manufacturing
- Create BOM for entire solution and support supply chain activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated design solutions
- Assuring system and product quality and safety by designing testing methods
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 4+ years related Mechanical Engineering experience
- Should have experience in product design
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM, SolidWorks and FEA simulation software
- Experience in working with manufacturers and ability to design for manufacturing of sheet metal components
- Design thinking practitioner and effective presentation skills a big plus
- Experience in designing efficient drive systems, motors and gears system is a plus
