Exciting opportunity for Senior Mechanical Engineer interested in growing
their careers in one of the fast-paced company involved in high tech building design and construction.
We are multi-discipline team that provides engineering services for facilities projects in the North
America region and are in a process of developing a team to support similar projects in India and APAC
region.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical design project teams to create world class designs
for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects including hyperscale data
centers, food & consumer product, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, and
institutional facilities. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the project team throughout the design
and construction process, adapting mechanical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or
client needs. Experience preferred with the analysis and design of systems and equipment utilized in
hyperscale datacenters, food & consumer product facilities and manufacturing facilities including but not
limited to: chilled water, heating water, steam, boiler, boiler feedwater, diesel generators, energy
efficiency, life cycle costing, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
o Lead mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion
for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
o Prepare mechanical equipment: packaged equipment specifications and data sheets,
Request for Qualifications (RFQ's), technical bid summaries, and purchase
recommendations.
o Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings; data interface with suppliers, clients other
engineering disciplines, detailers, designers.
o Participate in development of project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and
construction planning. Responsible for effective management of change orders.
o Applies expert knowledge of commonly used mechanical concepts, practices, codes and
procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.
o Applies knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.
o Quality review production drawings for a variety of projects and project related data as
required by the project managers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related
software.
o Quality review the construction administration including coordination with field personnel
to resolve design related installation issues, calculations, field inspections and testing of
mechanical systems.
o Leads field inspections, installation, measurements or calculations for clients.
o Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
o Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop
new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and
expectations are met.
o Participate in sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits.
o Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated
targets and standards for financial performance.
o Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates. Report project performance.
o Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to the mechanical engineering practice.
Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
o Responsible for QA/QC process adherence.
o Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
o Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
o All other duties as assigned.
Tools:
o Trane TRACE or any other load calculation program.
o REVIT, Navisworks, AutoCAD
o Navisworks, AutoCAD, BlueBeam
o Knowledge of AutoPipe, Autocad plant 3D will be an added advantage.
o Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote
o Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, from a recognized institution.
o Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering is a plus.
o Minimum 9 – 13 years of working experience. EPC project experience preferred.
o Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
o Strong knowledge of codes and standards (ASHRAE, International Mechanical Code,
International Plumbing Code, International Fire Code, NFPA, National Building Code, etc).
and Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to
team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
o Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a
quantitative problem-solving environment.
o Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and
problem-solving skills.
o Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
o Ability to travel.
