Title: Senior Project Officer – Plastic Waste Management

Duty Station: Bangalore, India
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Energy and Environment, Social Sciences, Rural Development, Business Management, or related fields.
Desirable: Master’s in Energy and Environment, Business Management, Social Sciences, Rural Development, or related fields.
Experience:
• At least 6-8 years of professional experience in the areas of social Entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihood.
• Should have at least 2-3 years of experience in Consulting and implementing similar projects, with special reference to plastic recycling and waste management etc.
• Experience in working with technology platforms including mobile applications, social enterprises will be added advantage.
• Experience in working with recyclers and finding innovative social business models to handle waste.
• Experience in working with local government at the grassroot level.
• Experience on preparation of TORs / EoI documents on solid waste management will be preferable.
Skills:
• High-level of IT/computing skills (minimum: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive constructive attitude;
• Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities;
• Ability to prioritize assignments and requirements, and multitask as needed;
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Ability to integrate technology into various aspects of the project for planning, rollout and monitoring
Language Requirements: Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, Hindi is a requirement. Regional language specific to the zone is preferred.
Remuneration package is INR 1,39,858/- per month (taxable). UNDP also offers additional benefits which include medical insurance coverage and limited pension reimbursement for contract holder and encourages work life balance to its employees.
