Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced, highly skilled, and passionate Senior Spring Boot Microservices Developer to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performing microservices-based applications.
This role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture, along with hands-on experience in cloud platforms, containerization, database optimization, and CI/CD pipelines. As a senior developer, you will also mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to building enterprise-grade, distributed applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Application Design & Development

Develop, enhance, and maintain microservices-based applications using Spring Boot and Java.

Implement RESTful APIs, handle integrations, and ensure seamless communication between services.

Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and high availability.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver robust solutions.
2. Microservices Architecture & Best Practices
-
Design and implement loosely coupled, independently deployable microservices.

Apply domain-driven design (DDD) and event-driven architecture (EDA) principles where applicable.

Ensure proper service discovery, load balancing, and fault tolerance.

Maintain API documentation and establish service versioning strategies.
3. Database & Data Management
-
Work with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.

Design efficient data models and write optimized database queries.

Integrate data caching mechanisms like Redis or Hazelcast to improve performance.

Ensure proper data security and integrity in distributed environments.
4. Cloud & Containerization
-
Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Use Docker for containerization and Kubernetes (K8s) for orchestration.

Implement cloud-native best practices for microservices deployment and scaling.

Set up monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk.
5. CI/CD & DevOps Integration

Build automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

Ensure smooth integration and deployment across multiple environments.

Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure continuous delivery and minimal downtime.

Implement automated testing frameworks for unit, integration, and performance testing.
6. Security & Compliance

Implement secure coding practices to protect applications from vulnerabilities.

Ensure proper authentication and authorization using OAuth2, JWT, or Keycloak.

Maintain compliance with data security regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC2 (if applicable).

Perform regular code reviews, security scans, and penetration testing.
7. Mentorship & Collaboration

Guide and mentor junior developers to improve their coding and problem-solving skills.

Collaborate with product managers, QA teams, and UX/UI designers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Conduct technical knowledge-sharing sessions within the team.

Contribute to establishing coding standards and best practices across the development team.
Required Skills & Competencies
1. Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.

Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL (optional), and microservices design.

Expertise in message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.

Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Strong understanding of cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git), and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
