Job Description
Job Summary:
The Automation Service Engineer will be responsible for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial automation systems, including Mitsubishi PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, SCADA, and Vision Systems. The role requires hands-on expertise in automation hardware and software, providing technical support to clients, and ensuring smooth operation of control and inspection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance of PLC (Mitsubishi, Siemens, Delta), HMI, VFD, SCADA, and Vision Systems.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot Mitsubishi PLC programs using GX Works / GX Developer.
- Configure and integrate Vision Systems (Cognex / Keyence / Omron / Mitsubishi) for automated inspection and quality control applications.
- Calibrate and maintain sensors, cameras, and lighting in vision-based automation setups.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of automation equipment.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support for customer systems.
- Document all service activities, including reports, test results, and backups.
- Collaborate with design, R&D, and software teams for system upgrades and integration.
- Deliver training and demonstrations to clients on system operation, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards during all service activities.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Mitsubishi PLC programming (GX Works / GX Developer).
- Experience with Vision Systems (Cognex, Keyence, Omron, or Mitsubishi).
- Proficiency in HMI and SCADA configuration, VFD setup, and industrial networking.
- Understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet/IP.
- Knowledge of control panel wiring, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and customer-handling skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively for installation and service activities.
Qualifications:
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 0-2 years of experience in industrial automation or service engineering.
- Hands-on experience in Mitsubishi PLC and Vision System integration is mandatory.
- Familiarity with Selec, Siemens, and Delta automation products is an advantage.
