Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Pumps and Compressor Servicing position at Super Tech Pumps and Equipments Pvt. Ltd. in Chandigarh. The role involves maintaining and servicing pumps and compressors on a day-to-day basis.


Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in servicing and maintaining pumps and compressors
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair techniques for various pump and compressor systems
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
  • Certification or training in pump and compressor servicing is a plus


FRESHERS WITH HAVING ITI, DIPLOMA IN MACHANICAL, BSC CAN ALSO APPLY

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation and Commissioning:
  • Install various types of pumps (centrifugal, gear, screw, diaphragm, submersible, etc.) and compressors (rotary screw, reciprocating, centrifugal, etc.) according to specifications and layout plans.

  • Ensure correct alignment, connections, and integration with electrical, control, and piping systems.

  • Perform commissioning tests to verify functionality, efficiency, and compliance with performance standards.

  • Train client personnel on operating procedures, safety protocols, and basic troubleshooting.

2. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance activities based on OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) guidelines.

  • Replace worn-out components such as seals, gaskets, filters, valves, and bearings.

  • Monitor equipment using tools like vibration analyzers, thermal imagers, and ultrasonic testers to predict possible failures.

  • Lubricate rotating components, check oil levels, and maintain cooling systems.

3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in pumps and compressors.

  • Repair or replace faulty parts (e.g., motors, impellers, pistons, cylinders, pressure switches).

  • Perform realignment, balancing, and recalibration as needed.

  • Utilize diagnostic software and manual inspection to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes.

4. Emergency Response:
  • Provide rapid on-site response to unplanned equipment failures to minimize client downtime.

  • Carry out emergency repairs and temporary solutions with minimal disruption to operations.

  • Coordinate with vendors or manufacturers for critical spare parts or specialized services when necessary.

5. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate service records, job cards, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.

  • Prepare detailed service reports including findings, repairs done, and future recommendations.

  • Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to clients and internal teams.

  • Maintain inventory of service tools, spare parts, and consumables.

6. Technical Support and Client Interaction:
  • Offer technical consultation and support to clients regarding operation, maintenance, and performance improvement.

  • Provide feedback to design or product teams for product enhancements or recurring issues.

  • Develop long-term relationships with clients through reliable service and clear communication.

  • Offer after-sales support including upgrades, service contracts, and spare parts supply.

7. Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to all company and site-specific safety procedures and use proper PPE.

  • Follow environmental guidelines for handling oils, refrigerants, coolants, and waste.

  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, OSHA) relevant to industrial equipment and site operations.

8. Continuous Learning and Development:
  • Stay updated on new pump/compressor models, technologies, and diagnostic tools.

  • Attend manufacturer trainings and obtain necessary certifications.

  • Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers or technicians.

Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and rotating equipment.

  • Strong understanding of pump and compressor systems – types, applications, and common issues.

  • Proficient in alignment techniques (laser and dial), shaft balancing, seal and bearing replacement.

  • Familiarity with electrical motors, starters, PLC basics, VFDs, and instrumentation.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and wiring diagrams.

  • Skilled in using mechanical tools, electrical meters, and diagnostic instruments.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.

  • Ability to work under pressure in critical situations.

  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.

  • Professionalism and customer service mindset.
