Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and dependable Shop Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, handling daily product sales, maintaining the shop’s appearance, and ensuring timely communication and delivery of customer needs. This role demands strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn about the products and services we offer.
The Shop Assistant plays a key part in ensuring that the customer experience is smooth, efficient, and pleasant — both in-store and during follow-ups.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Sales

Greet customers in a warm, courteous manner and provide assistance as needed.

Understand customer requirements and help them select suitable products.

Provide detailed product information, including features, usage, pricing, and availability.

Handle basic queries, complaints, or issues in a professional and helpful tone.

Maintain a positive and helpful attitude to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Product Handling and Shop Operations

Display and organize products in a visually appealing and easily accessible manner.

Refill shelves and ensure all items are well-stocked and labeled.

Keep the shop clean, neat, and organized at all times.

Monitor product quality and report any expired, damaged, or missing stock to the supervisor.

Assist in packing, tagging, or wrapping products as per the customer’s request.
Customer Contact and Delivery Coordination

Maintain a record of regular customers and stay in touch with them for follow-up, feedback, and promotions.

Coordinate with the delivery personnel (if applicable) to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Notify customers about product availability, delivery schedules, or order updates.

Handle daily sales records, invoice entries, and transaction logs if required.
Inventory and Record Keeping

Assist in stock-taking, inventory management, and order placement.

Maintain simple records of sales, customer preferences, and low-stock items.

Report inconsistencies or product requests to the shop owner/manager.
