Shop Assistant
Job Description
Basic computer knowledge is essential. The candidate should have good listening, presentation, and decision-making skills. Additional duties include handling receipts and issues, checking received materials against invoices, updating ledgers, and preparing daily and monthly stock and consumption reports.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales

Greet and welcome customers in a friendly, professional manner as they enter the store.

Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, offering personalized advice and recommendations.

Demonstrate knowledge of watch brands, features, specifications, and pricing to guide customer purchase decisions.

Explain product warranties, service plans, and after-sales support policies.

Assist customers in selecting the right watch based on lifestyle, style preference, brand loyalty, or specific occasion.

Promote new arrivals, exclusive collections, limited editions, and promotional offers.

Encourage upselling and cross-selling of related accessories such as straps, watch winders, and cases.
Product Knowledge

Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the watches sold in-store, including luxury, fashion, and smartwatches.

Keep abreast of industry trends, new collections, technological features, and competitive product knowledge.

Be familiar with the functionality of different types of movements – mechanical, automatic, quartz, solar, and smart.
Store Operations

Assist in opening and closing the store following established protocols.

Ensure that all display cases, shelves, and counters are clean, well-organized, and stocked with the right products.

Monitor product security and follow guidelines for handling high-value merchandise.

Use the point-of-sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately, including cash, card, and mobile payments.

Assist in inventory management by receiving stock, checking deliveries, tagging products, and performing regular stock counts.

Handle product returns, exchanges, and refunds in line with company policies.
Watch Servicing & Repair Support

Accept watches for servicing and repair, documenting details such as brand, model, issue reported, and customer contact information.

Provide basic troubleshooting information for minor issues (e.g., dead battery, loose strap, moisture inside the watch).

Liaise with the store's watch technician or external service centers to track repair progress and provide timely updates to customers.

Contact customers for service estimates, approvals, and collection notifications.

Ensure proper documentation and handling of watches sent for service, with attention to security and traceability.
Customer Follow-Up

Build long-term relationships with customers by maintaining client records and contact information.

Follow up on customer inquiries, special orders, and service completions.

Reach out to customers during special events, sales promotions, or when new collections arrive.
Visual Merchandising

Assist with visual merchandising by updating displays to align with brand standards and marketing campaigns.

Help rotate watch displays regularly to highlight new models and bestsellers.

Ensure promotional signage is correctly placed and up to date.
Team Collaboration

Work collaboratively with colleagues and store managers to meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.

Participate in regular training sessions, product knowledge meetings, and team briefings.

Support other staff members during busy periods, including weekends and seasonal promotions.
