Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and results-oriented Site Engineer to oversee on-site execution of construction projects and ensure that work is carried out as per the approved drawings, safety standards, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, managing labor and materials, monitoring quality and safety, and supporting the Project Manager in delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
The Site Engineer acts as a key point of contact between various stakeholders involved in a construction project, including contractors, subcontractors, site supervisors, architects, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Execution and Supervision

Supervise all on-site construction activities to ensure work is done according to design and quality standards.

Monitor daily construction progress and prepare site reports.

Ensure that work is progressing according to schedule, with minimum downtime or delays.
2. Resource Coordination
-
Allocate and supervise use of manpower, materials, and equipment.

Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely delivery of construction materials.

Maintain proper inventory records and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
3. Quality Control and Assurance

Implement quality control procedures and standards at the site.

Check levels, alignments, and measurements to ensure work is done as per drawings/specifications.

Identify and report any deviation or non-conformance to quality standards.
4. Safety Compliance

Monitor and enforce safety protocols and ensure use of PPE by all site personnel.

Conduct daily toolbox talks and maintain site safety documentation.

Report incidents or near misses and ensure immediate corrective actions are taken.
5. Timeline and Progress Tracking

Create and follow up on daily and weekly work schedules.

Assist the Project Manager in updating the project schedule and identifying delays or issues.

Maintain project documentation such as site diaries, logs, and status reports.
6. Stakeholder Communication

Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical issues.

Communicate progress, challenges, and site updates to management in a timely manner.

Support project meetings and ensure required site-level coordination.
7. Drawing and Document Review

Interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate implementation.

Ensure that only the latest and approved drawings are being used at the site.

Communicate design clarifications and revisions to site teams.
8. Team Supervision and Labor Management

Supervise and direct the activities of subcontractors and labor teams.

Monitor workforce performance, discipline, and attendance.

Ensure proper workflow and task allocation across labor teams.
9. Inspection and Handover

Participate in site inspections conducted by consultants, clients, or government bodies.

Assist in final testing, snag list rectification, and handover of the completed site.

Ensure all work meets the final inspection and handover requirements.
Required Skills and Competencies:

Technical Knowledge:
Sound understanding of civil construction methods, materials, structural elements, and safety procedures. -
Planning and Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage daily activities, track progress, and ensure timely task execution. -
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication for coordination with teams, vendors, and clients. -
Problem Solving:
Ability to identify on-site challenges and offer effective, practical solutions in real time. -
Attention to Detail:
Vigilance in monitoring quality, safety, and alignment with design specifications. -
Team Leadership:
Ability to lead labor teams and subcontractors with fairness and authority.
