Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and technically sound Site Engineer to join our construction/project team. The Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring technical compliance, quality assurance, and timely project execution. This role demands a strong understanding of construction drawings, engineering standards, material specifications, safety protocols, and contractor coordination.
The ideal candidate will be involved in daily site supervision, project scheduling, contractor management, and technical reporting, playing a key role in maintaining quality and speed across all phases of execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision

Supervise day-to-day site activities and ensure that construction is progressing as per approved drawings, standards, and timelines.

Monitor the work of subcontractors and laborers and ensure proper workmanship.

Ensure all work complies with company and project specifications and quality standards.
2. Technical Coordination
-
Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications and explain them clearly to contractors, workers, and suppliers.

Assist in resolving technical and execution-related queries that arise on-site.

Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and consultants to ensure on-site implementation matches the approved design.
3. Schedule and Progress Management

Prepare and maintain daily progress reports (DPRs), photographs, and records of site activities.

Coordinate with the planning team to monitor project schedules and deadlines.

Escalate delays or discrepancies and assist in developing catch-up plans where needed.
4. Contractor & Vendor Coordination

Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.

Ensure that subcontractors adhere to site safety norms, specifications, and contract terms.

Verify contractor bills, measurements, and prepare work completion reports.
5. Safety & Compliance

Ensure all construction activities on-site follow safety regulations and company EHS policies.

Conduct or assist in toolbox talks and enforce use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Identify safety risks and take corrective action as required.
6. Quality Assurance

Inspect materials and workmanship for quality compliance as per IS codes and project requirements.

Assist the QA/QC team in testing and quality verification.

Maintain quality checklists, inspection records, and corrective action reports.
7. Material Management

Monitor and control wastage of materials on-site.

Reconcile material usage and stock at site.

Assist in forecasting material requirements and ensuring timely procurement.
8. Reporting & Documentation

Maintain all site documents including work permits, checklists, drawings, contractor records, and correspondence.

Submit daily/weekly reports on work status, labor deployment, materials, and issues to senior management.

Prepare snag lists and participate in project handover procedures.
