Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test and deliver software to automate manual operational work
- Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents
- Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes
- Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives
- Design self-healing and resiliency patterns
- Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions
- Coach or manage teams as applicable
- Participate in the 24x7 support coverage as needed
- Create designs and engineer solutions for our Virtual Platform for security, reliability and scalability
- Build and enhance monitoring solutions to enhance health of the plant. (Self-Healing)
- Leverage CI/CD pipeline; GIT/Bitbucket, code review, Test&QA, code release
- Design and Develop API’s, frameworks, and systems that support automations on the VMware platform
- Participate in incident responses and then design/develop remedial solutions.
- Participate in Incident resolution and Change management activities related to VMware Esxi on Cisco UCS, HP and Dell infrastructure.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an software engineering discipline
- Expertise in at least one technology stack designing, coding, testing, and delivering software
- Proficiency in one or more technology domains, may be a cross-domain expert able to solve complex and mission critical problems within a business or across the firm
- Working knowledge of infrastructure components, including ESXi 5.x, 6.x and related VMware offerings running on Cisco UCS, Dell and HP Hardware
- Excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
- Expertise with Software Engineering knowledge: Object Oriented Programming, Data Types, and API Development
- Experience in Configuration Management: Ansible & Puppet
- Experience with Python and/or PowerShell
- Experience with continuous integration, delivery, configuration management and automated testing in a virtualized environment
- Enterprise experience with large scale deployments in a Private Cloud
