Job Description
Key Roles & Responsibilities (By Trade):
1. Mason:
-
Construct walls, floors, and other structures using bricks, blocks, and concrete.
-
Prepare surfaces, mix mortar, and lay bricks/stones with accuracy.
-
Perform plastering, RCC work, patch repairs, and concrete surface finishing.
2. Tiler:
-
Lay tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces ensuring proper alignment and leveling.
-
Cut tiles using manual or electric tools and finish with grouting and polishing.
-
Handle ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, or marble tiles depending on the design.
3. Sign Writer:
-
Design, paint, and install signs for safety, branding, or instructional purposes.
-
Use stencils, vinyl cutting machines, or hand-painting methods for sign production.
-
Ensure visibility, correct spelling, and alignment of all signs.
4. Steel Fixer:
-
Cut, bend, and fix steel rods and mesh for reinforced concrete.
-
Read bar bending schedules and structural drawings.
-
Tie steel securely using wires and position rebar accurately for casting.
5. General Labourer:
-
Assist skilled workers with lifting, moving materials, cleaning, and basic tasks.
-
Prepare sites by clearing debris, loading/unloading, or setting up scaffolds.
-
Follow instructions and maintain site cleanliness and safety.
6. Carpenter:
-
Measure, cut, and assemble wooden frameworks, doors, windows, and furniture.
-
Install partitions, formwork, gypsum boards, and ceilings.
-
Operate saws, drills, and carpentry tools safely and efficiently.
7. Polisher:
-
Polish wooden, metal, or stone surfaces using machines or hand techniques.
-
Apply varnish, lacquer, or wax to give surfaces a smooth finish.
-
Match polish colors and grains as per design or repair specifications.
8. Painter:
-
Prepare walls and surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and patching.
-
Apply primer, paint, putty, or texture using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
-
Mix colors accurately and ensure clean, streak-free finishes.
9. Technician (General/Multi-trade):
-
Perform basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or civil repair and maintenance work.
-
Diagnose issues, handle tools, and carry out preventive maintenance as per schedule.
