Job Description
Looking to hire a programmer/developer to help the core technology team in coding for various projects in the execution of trading strategies.
The core technology team is based in New York City in the US.
The developer is expected to work closely with this team and jointly undertake development and coding for various projects.
The hours of work for this position, however, are regular Indian business hours.
The developer is not required to come up with trading strategies himself/herself and these are already in place.
While the fund is based in the US, this position will be based in Mumbai.
Looking for developers for the India business having;
A strong core computer science background (a solid knowledge of algorithms and data structures, both theory and implementation),
Experience in building large scale software systems
Strong experience in at least one of C++ or Java and working knowledge or better in python, both substantiated by experience.
Responsibilities
- Work with the fund managers (1 in India and 2 in the US) to design execution algorithms and programs for the trading strategies already created by them
- Optimize execution efficiency by continuously refining the execution algos
- Integrate and manage the software communication between the various systems - data sources, optimizer, risk management module, execution module as well as broker-side execution data feed
- Provide inputs to the black-box strategy design team (the fund managers) based on the observations of market behavior, to the extent possible
- In the initial months, some amount of data cleaning work would also be required - most of it in the form of automating the clean-up of available datasets

This role is for a global multi-strategy hedge fund starting an India business. The India business is based in India and will trade in the Indian equity derivatives markets. The fund is well capitalized and has a strong investor base - the fund is already subscribed to more than half the target size. The investment strategy of the fund is systematic statistical arbitrage (and for full clarity, not at a high-frequency trading operation- but one of holding statistically motivated positions that are both significantly larger in size and held over longer holding periods). Technology is the central driver of the business and carries rewards commensurate with that status.
