Job Description

Job Summary
Join the rapidly growing Virtual Desktop Service (VDS) team within NetApp, delivering a powerful SaaS platform that helps customers harness the power of public, private and multi-cloud solutions. Virtual Desktop Service orchestrates deployment and lifecycle management of virtual desktop environments in Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services using either Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) or Remote Desktop Services (RDS).

VDS is actively seeking an experienced engineer for the local control plane team. The focus of this team is to architect and maintain the VDS subsystems that interact directly with the virtual desktops from within the customer deployment. This includes the locally installed applications and tools customers can leverage to build, scale, and optimize consumption of their virtual desktop workloads in public and private clouds.
Job Responsibilities

Collaborate to design and implement code for a wide variety of virtual infrastructure management operations
Complete unstructured tasks with many interdependencies, requiring creative solutions
Participate in writing project specs and release documentation
Designing, coding, testing, & automation
Process benchmarking and performance analysis
Work on additional tasks that contribute toward team, department and company goals

Job Requirements

Deep knowledge of Windows and Active Directory components, including Active Directory users, groups, permissions, Organizational Units (OUs) and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
Development experience with database technologies, particularly Microsoft SQL, Azure SQL, MySQL
Vendor sponsored certifications for specific cloud skills, such as AZ-103/ AZ-104, AZ-203/AZ-204, and AZ-303, will be considered.
Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, PowerShell
Experience leveraging RESTful or Soap APIs to retrieve data or execute tasks as part of a workflow
Deep knowledge of public cloud services and components, particularly Microsoft Azure Resource Manager, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Windows Virtual Desktop, enterprise applications and service principals, Azure Active Directory, AD Connect, and Log Analytics are a plus.
Experience troubleshooting problems with complex implementations, including log review, service validation, and defect documentation
Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential
Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and managers in a team environment to share best practices, meet aggressive goals, and meet high-quality standards

Education

Candidates typically possess 3+ years of experience developing applications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology is essential. A Master’s degree or equivalent work experience is preferred
