Job Responsibilities

You are capable of software engineering using disciplined software development methods including requirements analysis, use case & user story analysis, high and low level design, implementation and unit test using programming languages you already know or new languages you can quickly learn, system integration test, deployment monitoring, and sustaining product support, so why not come to Viasat and put these skills to good use?You will be a member of a team focused on improving the customer’s video streaming experience. You will work on designs and implementation of scalable and high-performing applications in the Viasat network.Our team members enjoy working closely with each other utilizing an Agile development methodology. Priorities can change quickly, but our team members are able to stay ahead of deadlines to delight every one of our customers whether they are internal or external to Viasat. Travel up to 10%.

Required Skills: -

BS CS/EE with 8+ years of experience in networking/telecom/Datacom industry- Experience with TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocol development and/or HTTP-based API development.- Experience with Linux server application development- Hands-on working knowledge of multicast protocols: IGMP and PIM- Excellent oral and written communication Preferred Skills: -

Experience with HTTP video streaming protocols such as HLS and DASH- Content Delivery Network (CDN) experience is a plus- Experience with Amazon Web Services or any other cloud environment- Experience programming in C/C++ in a Linux embedded environment or Java/Python or Clojure- Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD) training or experience- Experience working effectively in Agile Scrum teams
