Role

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2+ years of related experience; or a sophisticated degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
Takes requirements from technical leads and performs software development feature tasks.
Automates testing on the software components developed.
Maintains and develops basic, specific programming assignments.
Debugs software defects and provides solutions.
Performs automated testing on the software components developed.
Maintains, improves, and fixes existing code.
Learns new technologies and applies them in software development.
Collaborates with other Business and IT partner teams on the successful delivery of product improvements and support.
Collaborates with other Software Engineers on implementation and may collaborate with more senior engineers on design.
Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to resolve appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Qualification & Responsibilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to administrate Atlassian ecosystem : Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence. This includes familiarity with using the tools, Linux servers/HW/SW, Marketplace; Solving issues; Balancing requested user customization & scalability; REST API; Plugin management/development; Third-party app integration in general (e.g. Jenkins, Teams, Sonar, etc.); Data Maintain a Jira Kanban board with our backlog of Atlassian tool requests: Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence and add-ons. Detail our tool workflows and FAQs in Confluence.
Maintain a testing framework (Postman) used for Atlassian tool regression testing. Expand test coverage for Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence to verify new features.
Proficiency in the administration and customization/scripting of Veritas Atlassian tools. This includes a strong understanding of the integration and maintenance of many Atlassian add-ons.
Supervise questions and issues reported by our Atlassian user community (Teams channels, Email, Jira issues). Independently fix/respond to those issues based on their severity.
Apply the required tool upgrade/customization to our Atlassian development and UAT servers. Execute automated tests (and expand coverage as needed) to verify all Atlassian tool upgrades. Following this verification, participate in moving those changes into production.
Takes advantage of available on-line Atlassian Training; engages with Atlassian TAM, and gains knowledge of tool integrations.
Participate in recurring meetings with IT owners of our application infrastructure. During these meetings convey the status of active projects and solicits IT for updates.
Exhibit strong verbal & written communication skills when dealing with partners dependent on Atlassian. Establish a positive relationship with a US-based mentor, who will give the candidate more responsibility and ability to work independently.
Work you're doing and projects range from short (hourly) responses to question/issues raised by our engineering customer's to larger projects (upgrading our toolsets, on-boarding new product/projects).
Gain the confidence of the manager and mentor when delegated assigned work.
Exhibit independence in prioritizing work backlog and delivering solutions. Use communication skills to : communicate priorities and standards to our users (they may not always like our decisions); and collaborating with them to understand and confirm their requirements.
Reviews status of assigned projects with manager/mentor in weekly 1-on-1s. Participate in daily standups with our Atlassian lead & team to manage our Atlassian Kanban. In both cases, actively participate in the prioritization of our backlog of work and complete assigned work with minimal direction.
