Indian Weightlifting Federation invites application for the position Head Physiotherapist

The Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWLF) invites online application for the role of Head Physiotherapist.

Position: Head Physiotherapist

Purpose of recruitment: The Indian Weightlifting Federation is looking for a senior physiotherapist to head its injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes. The Head Physiotherapist will be expected to work with the Weightlifters in the National Coaching Camp as per directions of the National Coach. He/She will also be expected to manage, monitor and guide the other physiotherapists in the National Coaching Camp

Place of Posting: The Head Physiotherapist, so recruited, will be posted in Patiala but may be required to travel extensively throughout the country and abroad

Remuneration: INR 1,00,000 – 2,00,000 per month (depending on qualification, experience and overall performance of the candidate during the selection process)

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Post Graduation in Sports Physiotherapy i.e., MPT (Sports) or MPT (Ortho & Sports Combined PG degree) or equivalent qualification from a recognised university/institute.
2. No online degree/diploma will be accepted as substitute to above qualification
3. More than 7 years experience in sports such as Cricket/Olympic bound games at elite level preferably with national teams.
4. Other qualifications relevant to meet the sports specific demand may be considered as additional qualifications.

Job Description:
1. Oversee rehabilitation programs of all athletes.
2. Manage all designated Physiotherapists working with the team.
3. Organize, develop and implement a comprehensive movement screening assessment for all first team players and, based upon the movement assessment findings, provide physical improvement stretch and strengthening exercises.
4. Shall be responsible for day-to-day injury management and rehabilitation of athletes.
5. Shall work on injury prevention strategy for the athletes in consultation with team doctor
6. Shall maintain a record of present and past injuries for all athletes of camp
7. Shall help the coach in planning and lead rehabilitation sessions for all athletes.
8. Any other work as assigned by IWLF/SAI.
