Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Sales
- Drive sales for import & export freight forwarding (ocean, air & project logistics) across India.
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities from both multinational and domestic clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure client retention and revenue growth.
- Collaborate with overseas offices/agents of Sinotrans to generate cross-trade and nomination business.
- Prepare and deliver customized proposals, quotations, and presentations to clients.
2. Marketing & Strategy
- Develop and implement sales & marketing strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Build Sinotrans’ brand presence in India through client engagement and industry networking.
- Develop promotional campaigns, digital marketing activities, and value-added services to strengthen market positioning.
3. Operations & Coordination
- Coordinate closely with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Work with overseas offices, carriers, airlines, and vendors to secure competitive rates and service offerings.
- Provide client-specific solutions, especially for special projects and OOG (Out-of-Gauge) shipments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing strategies, and trade regulations.
4. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve collective and individual sales targets.
- Provide training and development to enhance the team’s knowledge of products, markets, and sales skills.
- Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and ensure accountability within the team.
5. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance analysis.
- Track sales performance against targets and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Report business updates, client feedback, and market intelligence to senior management.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of international freight forwarding (ocean, air, project logistics).
- Excellent network with carriers, airlines, CFS, CHA, and trade partners.
- Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to understand client requirements and offer customized logistics solutions.
- Leadership and people management skills.
