Description:
- Description External: Network Platform Feature Testing and Automation.
- The Software Quality Assurance Engineer develops and executes test plans and automated tests for new features, new hardware and functionality of Arris products.
- This role will have responsibility to work with multiple Test Engineers in ARRIS India and in ARRIS San Jose to deliver test execution.
- This role also require experience in IP product testing , working Software and Hardware Development to help understand the features, derive test plans, strategy and drive test executions.
Must be able to demonstrate strong proficiency in testing one or more of the following areas:
• Experience in performing platform qualification tests on new products, Network Platform testing, Link testing and Optics qualification testing and PoE testing.
• Layer 2 protocols such as Spanning Tree, Rapid Spanning Tree (RSTP) 802.1w, VLANs, LACP, VSRP, MRP etc
• Hands on experience in TCL/Expect, Python, Perl, JAVA or equivalent scripting languages
• Hands on experience in using Spirent/Ixia/Smartbits traffic generators
• Exposure to handling escalations, issue reproduction, root cause analysis and testing.
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact with customer account teams and attend customer escalation calls as needed
