: DIRECT PATEINT CARE

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Monitor record and report symptoms and change in patient condition
• Record patient medical information and vital signs
• Direct and supervise less skilled nursing
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations & treatments
• Observes nurses and visit patients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided
• Conduct specified laboratory tests
• Co Ordinate infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions
• Sterile instruments, equipment and supplier and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained
• To maintain the personal hygiene of the patients including bathing care of mouth , back, nails hair etc
• Care of pressure points as needed
• To assist the patient in elimination, offering and removing the bedpans and urinals
• Bed making, assist in feeding the weak & debilitated patients
• Supervisions of diet
• Assist in physiotherapy, ambulation and rehabilitation
• Carry our patients teaching and demonstration according to need
• Assist in administration of intravenous injections, infusion and transfusion
• Administration of medicine and injections to the patients
• Observing, recording and reporting of vital signs e.g. T.P.R. and Blood Pressure
• Carry out technical procedure such as Naso-Gastric Intubation, Gastric Lavage, Oxygen Therapy, Dressing & Irrigations Enema, Catheterization, hot & Cold applications suction etc
• Collecting, labeling and dispatch of specimens
• Urine testing for sugar & albumin
• Observations, recording and reporting of all procedures & Test.

B : Ward Management

• Handling over and taking over charge of patients and ward Inventory in each shift
• Maintenance of therapeutic environment in the ward
• Keeping the ward clean
• Routine care and cleaning of dressing trolleys, cupboard, apparatus mackintosh etc
• Disinfection of linen, beds, floor and bedpans and fumigation of rooms etc.
