Staff Nurse
Job Description
- Patient care

Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care and Monitoring

Assess and monitor patients’ physical and mental health status regularly.

Administer medications, injections, and prescribed treatments accurately and on schedule.

Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration) and report abnormalities to the medical team.

Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support.

Provide wound care, dressing changes, and post-operative care following established guidelines.
2. Medical Documentation and Reporting
-
Maintain accurate and timely records of patients’ health status, nursing interventions, medication administration, and other treatments.

Document changes in patients’ conditions and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Prepare daily reports and assist in compiling medical histories and case notes.

Ensure confidentiality of patient information in compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements.
3. Coordination and Communication
-
Collaborate with doctors, specialists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement patient care plans.

Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and health education.

Act as a patient advocate to ensure their needs and concerns are addressed promptly.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute clinical insights.
4. Health Education and Counseling

Educate patients and families about disease prevention, medication usage, diet, hygiene, and post-treatment care.

Promote health awareness programs within the hospital or community setting.

Provide emotional support and counseling to patients undergoing treatment or coping with chronic conditions.
5. Compliance and Safety
-
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Follow hospital policies, medical ethics, and nursing standards.

Report any adverse events, accidents, or safety hazards immediately.

Participate in ongoing training and development programs to maintain nursing competencies.
6. Emergency and Critical Care Support

Provide immediate nursing care in emergency situations.

Assist in resuscitation and life support procedures under medical supervision.

Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, or treatments.

Handle medical equipment and instruments safely and efficiently.
