Job Description
Provide direct patient care in accordance with the nursing care plan and physician instructions.

Monitor, assess, and record patient condition, vital signs, and progress.

Administer medications, IVs, and other prescribed treatments accurately and safely.

Assist in diagnostic tests and communicate results with the clinical team.

Prepare patients for procedures, explain treatment plans, and provide emotional support.

Maintain accurate documentation and nursing records in compliance with hospital standards.

Coordinate with doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.

Ensure infection control practices and hygiene standards are strictly followed.
-
Participate in emergency response duties and assist in critical care when necessary.

Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medications, and post-hospital care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care and Monitoring:
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care to inpatients and outpatients, including admission, treatment, and discharge procedures.

Monitor patient conditions by checking vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration), oxygen levels, and documenting changes.
-
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors and according to hospital policies.
2. Clinical Procedures and Medical Assistance:
-
Assist doctors and specialists during medical examinations, minor procedures, or surgeries.

Perform nursing procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, dressing changes, wound care, nebulization, etc.

Operate and maintain medical equipment (infusion pumps, monitors, ECG machines) safely and efficiently.
3. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care, medications, procedures, and observations in patient charts and nursing notes.

Report any unusual findings or critical changes in patient condition to doctors and the nursing supervisor promptly.

Assist in preparing and updating nursing care plans and daily reports.
4. Patient and Family Communication:

Provide emotional support and clear information to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatments, and care routines.

Educate patients and caregivers about post-treatment care, hygiene, diet, and medication compliance.

Maintain patient confidentiality and dignity at all times.
5. Infection Control and Hygiene:

Follow infection prevention and control protocols strictly to reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections.

Ensure the cleanliness of patient areas, sterilization of equipment, and disposal of bio-medical waste according to guidelines.

Maintain hand hygiene and use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
6. Emergency and Critical Care Support:

Respond promptly to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or trauma.

Perform basic life support (BLS) or advanced life support (ALS) if certified.

Transfer patients to ICU or other departments as required and assist during emergency procedures.
7. Coordination and Teamwork:

Collaborate effectively with doctors, therapists, lab technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.

Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and clinical rounds.

Supervise and guide junior nursing staff, interns, or nursing aides when needed.
8. Training and Continuing Education:

Attend in-service training programs, workshops, and seminars to stay updated with the latest in nursing practices and healthcare protocols.
