Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and experienced Steel Structural Engineer to join our engineering and construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of steel structures used in a wide range of projects, including industrial buildings, commercial complexes, warehouses, bridges, and high-rise structures.
This role demands expertise in structural steel design, familiarity with relevant codes and standards, and the ability to collaborate with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure safe, cost-effective, and high-performance structures.
Position Overview:
The Steel Structural Engineer will work closely with other engineering disciplines to plan, design, and oversee the fabrication and erection of steel structures. The role involves structural analysis, preparation of detailed drawings, selection of appropriate materials, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and engineering standards.
Candidates must have strong analytical skills, proficiency in structural design software, and a deep understanding of the behavior and properties of steel as a construction material.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Structural Analysis and Design

Perform detailed structural analysis for steel frameworks, columns, trusses, beams, and joints.

Design steel structures that meet client specifications, industry standards, and local/national building codes (e.g., IS 800, AISC, BS 5950, Eurocodes).

Ensure the structural integrity and stability of designs under various loading conditions, including dead load, live load, wind, seismic, and thermal forces.

Optimize structural designs for cost-efficiency, material use, and constructability.
2. Engineering Drawings and Documentation

Prepare or review engineering drawings, structural layouts, and fabrication details using CAD software.

Collaborate with draftsmen to ensure accurate and clear production of shop drawings and general arrangement drawings (GADs).

Develop technical specifications, calculation reports, and design documents for approval and construction.
3. Coordination with Project Teams

Work closely with project managers, architects, MEP engineers, and site teams to ensure seamless integration of structural designs into the overall project.

Attend project meetings and contribute to design discussions, value engineering, and conflict resolution.

Provide support during tendering, cost estimation, and procurement phases.
4. Site Supervision and Quality Assurance

Conduct site visits to inspect steel erection, verify alignment with drawings, and assess construction quality.

Provide technical support during fabrication and installation phases to resolve structural issues or design modifications.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, material quality requirements, and structural tolerances.
5. Compliance and Standards

Stay updated with changes in steel design codes, safety standards, and materials technology.

Apply national and international structural design standards and practices in all phases of work.

Prepare design validation and compliance checklists for internal and client review.
