Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cleanliness and Maintenance:
-
Ensure that all dining and kitchen areas are clean and sanitized, adhering to health and safety standards.

Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware and ensure they are properly stored.
-
Clean tables, chairs, floors, and other dining room furniture between and after customer seating.
-
Assist with the cleaning of public areas, including restrooms, to maintain overall cleanliness of the establishment.
-
Assist the kitchen staff with maintaining cleanliness in food preparation areas, storage areas, and other operational areas.
2. Assistance with Food and Beverage Service:
-
Help the front-of-house staff by setting tables, arranging cutlery, glasses, and other dining essentials before customers are seated.
-
Ensure that food and beverage items are served in a timely and professional manner.
-
Assist waitstaff in serving food and drinks to customers, ensuring they are served to their satisfaction.
-
Deliver food to the table from the kitchen, ensuring that it is served hot and fresh.
-
Ensure that any special guest requests, such as dietary restrictions or allergies, are communicated and accommodated appropriately.
3. Support in Kitchen Operations:
-
Assist kitchen staff by delivering clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment to the necessary areas.

Ensure that kitchen equipment and tools are well-maintained and organized.
-
Collect waste from food preparation areas and discard it properly.
-
Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed promptly during shift changeovers.
-
Help with receiving, checking, and storing food and beverage stock deliveries.
4. Stock Management:
-
Assist in the inventory management of cleaning supplies, tableware, and kitchen supplies.
-
Report any shortages or equipment damage to the supervisor or management to ensure that operational needs are met.

Help organize the stock and ensure it is stored safely and efficiently to prevent wastage or damage.
5. Customer Service and Guest Relations:
-
Greet customers warmly, helping them with seating or other needs when required.
-
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through prompt assistance, courteous interactions, and attention to detail.

Help guests with minor requests, such as providing additional condiments, drinks, or napkins.
-
Provide feedback to the management team regarding guest experiences to ensure continuous improvement of service.
6. Health and Safety Standards:
-
Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure that food handling and service are done in accordance with industry standards.

Maintain proper personal hygiene and ensure work attire is clean and professional.

Ensure that waste disposal is carried out following environmental and health standards.

Adhere to the establishment's COVID-19 guidelines (or other relevant health policies), ensuring safety for both customers and staff.
7. Team Collaboration:
-
Work closely with kitchen staff, waitstaff, and other team members to ensure smooth service operations.

Assist in training new staff and apprentices when needed, passing on knowledge about cleaning procedures, equipment use, and customer service practices.

Communicate effectively with the rest of the team to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
8. Equipment Handling:
-
Ensure that cleaning tools and equipment, such as dishwashers, glass washers, and cleaning chemicals, are used properly and safely.

Report any equipment malfunctions or required repairs to the relevant authorities.

Help with the maintenance of equipment to ensure they are working at full capacity and cleanliness.
