Job Description

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout both the restaurant and rooftop areas. They ensure that all guest-facing spaces are clean, organized, and welcoming, while also serving food to guests and assisting with general cleaning tasks across all areas.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning and Sanitation:

Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including dishwashing areas, food prep zones, and storage spaces.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, and kitchen utensils using dishwashers or manually as required.
Sanitize food preparation surfaces, work counters, and equipment in compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Clean and mop kitchen floors, take out garbage, and ensure waste is disposed of properly.
Empty and clean dustbins, replacing liners and maintaining odor-free surroundings.

2. Support to Kitchen Staff:

Assist chefs and kitchen staff by providing clean utensils and cookware promptly during meal preparation.
Restock kitchen supplies such as dishes, glasses, silverware, and paper towels as needed.
Deliver food ingredients, tools, and cleaning supplies to different kitchen sections as directed.
Handle loading and unloading of deliveries and assist in organizing inventory in proper storage areas.

3. Equipment Maintenance:

Clean and maintain kitchen machinery and equipment like ovens, grills, refrigerators, and dishwashers.
Report any damage or malfunction of kitchen equipment or cleaning tools to supervisors for timely maintenance or repair.
Ensure safe handling and proper storage of all cleaning chemicals and tools.

4. Compliance and Safety:

Follow all safety procedures related to food hygiene, handling hot equipment, and managing cleaning supplies.
Wear appropriate protective gear, such as gloves and aprons, while on duty.
Adhere to fire, health, and sanitation regulations established by local authorities and the organization.
Participate in regular training sessions related to food safety, workplace hygiene, and emergency procedures.

5. Dining Area and Event Support (if applicable):

Assist in setting up and clearing tables, refilling water, and cleaning up spills in the dining area when required.
Support in banquet or event setups by ensuring serviceware is clean and tables are properly arranged.
Help restock buffet lines and replenish service stations during high-volume events or service hours.
