Store Assistant
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
-
Greet and welcome customers as they enter the store.

Provide product information and assist customers with inquiries or purchases.

Help customers find items they are looking for and suggest alternatives if products are unavailable.

Handle basic complaints or concerns with patience and courtesy, and escalate to the supervisor if needed.

Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor at all times.
Stock Management
-
Receive, unpack, and organize stock deliveries in the storeroom and on shelves.
-
Check deliveries against invoices or order slips and report any discrepancies.
-
Ensure shelves are fully stocked and products are properly labeled and arranged.

Refill or rotate stock on the sales floor as needed.

Monitor product expiry dates, damages, and inform management of slow-moving stock.
Store Maintenance and Appearance

Keep the store clean, well-organized, and visually appealing at all times.

Sweep, mop, and dust floors, shelves, and product displays regularly.

Arrange merchandise neatly and ensure price tags or barcodes are accurate.

Follow hygiene and safety standards, especially when handling consumable or fragile items.
Cash and Billing Support

Assist with operating billing counters or POS systems.

Handle cash, card, or digital payments under supervision.

Issue receipts, refunds, or exchange slips as per store policy.

Maintain basic records of transactions or daily sales, if required.
Coordination and Reporting

Report low stock levels, customer feedback, or technical issues to the store supervisor or manager.

Assist in stock-taking or inventory audits during month-end or promotional seasons.

Support store promotions, displays, or special campaigns.

Cooperate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
