Job Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a retail store to ensure smooth functioning, maximize sales, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain operational standards. This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and organizational skills to manage staff, inventory, and customer relations efficiently.
As the face of the store, the Store Manager is accountable for meeting sales targets, managing budgets, driving staff performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The successful candidate will be proactive, results-driven, and passionate about retail management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Operations Management

Oversee all daily store activities including opening and closing procedures.

Ensure the store is clean, organized, and meets visual merchandising standards.

Monitor store safety and security measures, including cash handling and loss prevention.

Manage stock levels, ensure timely replenishment, and minimize shrinkage.
2. Sales & Customer Service

Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual targets.

Monitor sales performance and analyze data to identify opportunities for growth.

Maintain high standards of customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Handle escalated customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
3. Staff Management & Development

Recruit, train, and onboard new employees.

Schedule and manage staff shifts to meet operational needs.

Motivate and mentor team members to improve performance and achieve goals.

Conduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback.

Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high morale.
4. Inventory & Stock Control

Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular physical inventory audits.

Coordinate with suppliers and the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Manage stock rotation to reduce wastage and maintain product quality.

Implement and monitor loss prevention measures.
5. Financial Management

Monitor daily cash flow, deposits, and petty cash usage.

Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and expense controls.

Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

Analyze sales reports and KPIs to track profitability and identify cost-saving opportunities.
6. Marketing & Promotion

Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns and in-store promotions.

Work with the marketing team to implement local store marketing initiatives.

Maintain visual merchandising standards to attract and engage customers.

Provide feedback on customer preferences and competitor activities.
