SUMMER INDUSTRIAL INTERNSHIP-2020 II year Engineering students (2018-2022 Batch)
Refer to the circular dated 23/04/2019 from the registrar SASTRA to all of you last year. You are aware of the fact that summer internships have been made mandatory by the AICTE, Govt .Of India for all the engineering students of India from the academic year 2018-19 onwards. You all underwent social internship in your first year summer vacation successfully. Congrats for the same.
For the 2nd year students (B.Tech. & Five year Integrated M.Tech.)summer industrial Internship becomes compulsory and the duration of the internship should be between 4-6 Weeks in this summer
(May & June)2020. The location/place of internship could be anywhere in India (or) abroad.
However, such internship should be related to your current degree programme/domain area (CSE/ECE/CIVIL/MECH/BIO-TECH/CHEMICAL …)
Internship provides an excellent platform for industry exposure helping students to seamlessly integrate their knowledge with actual industry practice. It will help you to identify the gaps that exist between theory that has been taught in the classroom and its actual implementation industrial /work environment.
Industrial Internship is a tremendous value-addition to your profile, especially it will help you during placement process. Recruiters expect candidates to undergo in plant training, internships, participation in contests etc. during their study period. Internships could also provide the “Gateways” you have been looking for to get a good placement in your dream company. It is suggested that you select a company wherein you can acquire practical knowledge in your subject.
You are advised to find an industrial organization/company for your summer internship in May-June 2020 on or before 31st March 2020. Dept of T&P will also share some links and sources to apply. Regularly look at SASTRA website and other announcements from Dept of T&P sent time to time.
