Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor to oversee all scaffolding activities on construction sites, ensuring the safe erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding structures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various types of scaffolding systems, excellent leadership skills, and a strong commitment to site safety and compliance.
The Supervisor will coordinate with engineers, safety officers, site foremen, and labor teams to ensure the scaffolding work meets structural integrity standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision and Workforce Management

Supervise scaffolding teams, including scaffolders, helpers, and laborers on-site.

Allocate tasks, monitor daily productivity, and ensure timely completion of scaffolding work.

Conduct daily toolbox talks and briefings related to safety, task allocation, and site conditions.

Train and guide workers on correct techniques and safety protocols.
2. Scaffolding Erection and Dismantling

Supervise the erection, alteration, and dismantling of scaffolding in compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Inspect scaffolding components before use and ensure correct installation as per design drawings or site requirements.

Coordinate with the engineering team to interpret design plans and implement customized scaffolding solutions.
3. Safety Compliance and Inspection

Conduct regular inspections of scaffolds to ensure structural stability and compliance with safety standards (e.g., OSHA, local construction safety regulations).

Report any unsafe practices or non-conformities immediately to the Safety Officer or Project Manager.

Ensure appropriate signage, guardrails, toe boards, access ladders, and platforms are in place.

Maintain a clean and hazard-free scaffolding work environment.
4. Material Management

Monitor the usage and inventory of scaffolding materials and components.

Request and coordinate delivery of required scaffolding materials from the warehouse or supplier.

Ensure proper storage and maintenance of scaffolding tools and equipment.
5. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate daily records of scaffolding work, manpower, safety inspections, and incidents.

Prepare and submit shift reports, work progress updates, and inspection checklists to site management.

Collaborate with safety and quality assurance teams to provide documentation during audits or compliance checks.
6. Coordination with Site Teams

Liaise with site engineers, construction supervisors, and contractors to plan scaffolding work schedules.

Support other trades by ensuring access platforms are safely erected and available as required.

Attend site coordination meetings and provide updates on scaffolding progress and resource requirements.
