Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly responsible and detail-oriented Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations in a Food Processing Unit involved in the production of dairy products, confectionery, and bakery items. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing production processes, ensuring quality control standards, supervising staff, and maintaining hygiene and safety regulations in line with food industry norms.
The role demands strong organizational skills, basic computer proficiency, the ability to read and write in English, and an understanding of food processing standards. Prior experience in supervising food production lines—especially within the dairy, bakery, or confectionery sectors—is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:

Production Supervision:

Monitor daily food processing activities to ensure smooth operations on the production floor.

Coordinate and supervise the work of processing staff, machine operators, and packaging workers.

Ensure products are prepared and packaged according to batch schedules and recipes/formulations.

Quality Control & Assurance:

Regularly inspect products at various stages of processing to ensure they meet quality and hygiene standards.

Maintain quality control records and implement corrective actions for deviations.

Conduct sample checks, monitor expiry dates, ingredient accuracy, consistency, and product presentation.

Health, Safety, and Hygiene:

Enforce strict hygiene practices among staff in line with FSSAI or HACCP guidelines.

Ensure regular sanitization of work areas, equipment, and tools used in the production unit.

Identify and report any safety hazards or quality issues to management.

Inventory and Material Management:

Track raw material usage, stock levels, and ensure timely replenishment of supplies.

Coordinate with the procurement team for inventory planning and avoid production delays.

Minimize material wastage and manage efficient use of resources.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed production records including quantity produced, batch numbers, quality reports, and equipment usage.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production output, quality metrics, and resource consumption.

Ensure compliance documentation is accurate and up to date for inspections or audits.

Staff Supervision and Training:

Train new workers on production techniques, safety, and hygiene protocols.

Monitor worker attendance, assign tasks, and resolve minor personnel issues.

Encourage teamwork, discipline, and productivity on the shop floor.

Process Optimization:

Identify inefficiencies in production and suggest improvements to enhance output and reduce downtime.

Monitor machine performance and report malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.

Coordinate with the technical or maintenance team for machine servicing and troubleshooting.

Technology and Software Usage:

Use basic computer applications (MS Excel, Word, email) to manage reports, schedules, and inventory logs.

Operate or assist in software-based inventory and production tracking systems (ERP preferred).

Communicate through email and maintain digital records of production and quality checks.
