Job Description
The Supply Chain Function
- The Supply Chain function in Shelf Drilling is responsible for the procurement and delivery of materials and services to offshore drilling rigs fleet to support operations, maintenance and engineering projects.
- High performance of this function is critical to safety, operational excellence, and cost management.
- The function comprises procurement, contracts management, logistics, warehousing and import-export activities.
Responsibilities and Duties
The position
- The Supply Chain Specialist / Trainee (or Buyer) position is an entry level role. Incumbents are trained to independently support procurement and logistics coordination for operating rigs or engineering projects.
- Responsibilities include receiving procurement requirements, sourcing quotations, placing orders and processing them through the ERP system.
- Buyers are closely involved in rate contracts negotiations, vendor development and alternative sourcing.
- High performing professionals can expect to grow to managerial positions within the Supply Chain function both within the India division and globally.
Required Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate
- We are looking for freshers or candidates with 1-2 years experience with an MBA / PGDBM in Supply Chain / Operations Management.
- Graduates in Mechanical / Marine Engineering / candidates with some experience in oil / marine / engineering industries will be preferred.
Language skills:
- Verbal and written fluency in English
- Verbal fluency in Hindi (while English is the official language of all communication, a large section of offshore crew is more comfortable with every-day conversations in Hindi / national languages)
Medical Fitness requirements :
- The position requires the incumbent to undergo trainings and work on offshore drilling rigs, that require a mandatory level of medical fitness and mental readiness
- Base location : Powai, Mumbai
- Travel once in three months to offshore drilling rigs
- 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday with an expectation to work extra hours / days as required
