IT BILLING - PRODUCTION SUPPORT

Context of the job

As a leader in end-to-end services for critical electronic transactions, Worldline is specialized in electronic payment services (issuing, acquiring, acceptance, terminals, card and non-card payment solutions & processing), Merchant Services, as well as services for financial markets.

The delivery unit Merchant Services is concerned with managing electronic payment transactions through payment terminals (POS terminals), eCommerce (web shops), ATM’s and mCommerce (MBanxafe) for brands like Bancontact, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Diners, CUP, JCB, Sodexo … and requesting real-time payment authorizations to the card issuers worldwide. Today we process 2 billion transactions per year, with peaks of over 10,000 transactions per minute.

The Billing Service is within the delivery unit “MS” responsible for all projects related to automating billing flows towards Merchants & Financial Institutions as well as the Merchant/Bank settlement for payment schemes like BC EMV and international accounts.

The role of a billing production support member is to monitor the production server, schedule jobs, manage the incidents/requests received from end users by analyzing/solving them and to escalate them to the other IT teams (Database admins, IT billing second line support …) when necessary. Also a constant strive for work environment and product improvements is of utmost importance.

Key responsibilities
  • Take ownership for the successful delivery of the monthly and weekly bill runs and perform the delivery in a structural and timed manner
  • Integrate application components
  • Analyze problems raised by the customers, find and implement a solution (mostly in an emergency / crisis context with high pressure, stress and quick results expectation)
  • Propose & analyze application improvements (performance, robustness …)
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all connected business teams
  • Monitor all alerts and escalate all issues for the billing procedures and systems
  • Coordinate with different IT groups and external vendors and ensure effective application services to ensure reliability of the billing system


Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Technology, Engineering, Economy or related fields
  • Knowledge in the payment or banking industry would be an additional asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand way
  • Fluency in English
  • Able & willing to work in an international & multi-cultural environment
  • Structured and organized, with good interpersonal skills
  • Autonomous and proactive
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Result-oriented individual who appreciate working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to be flexible and to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Effectively manage simultaneously occurring tasks
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
  • Mandatory Technical skills SQL, PLSQL, UNIX.
  • Understanding of technical infrastructure & working knowledge of C and/or Java is highly desirable
