Job Description
Impact As a Support Engineer, you will be part of our Technical Operations (TechOps) team that supports and maintains mission critical enterprise applications. You will be involved in ensuring the availability of the Products and the infrastructure on which they are hosted.
You will have access to various monitoring and troubleshooting tools that you would be using to do an investigation and resolve issues. You would also be responsible for doing a Root Cause Analysis and take necessary Corrective Actions to prevent reoccurrence of issues. The JobThis role is very similar to a DevOps role, and you will own the production, test and staging environments You will design and implement monitoring solutions using advanced tools like SumoLogic, AppDynamics, Splunk, Cloudwatch Execute technical operations including Monitoring, Automation, Network, Cloud, Security, Release Management, Reliability Engineering Support the operational environment that provides the company client facing applications and meets the requirements of service availability and recoverability Organize and facilitate outage event management activities including outage status communication, problem determination activities and root cause analysis
Capture and reporting of application availability metrics Coordinating, planning and performing application deployments Development of automated application deployment scripts Work closely with Engineering & Product teams to be aligned with Business Demonstrate Ownership and accountability Demonstrate leadership and drive the team to achieve goals Ability to work as a team and individually for troubleshooting/investigating problems Ability to coordinate with Infrastructure support teams and get things done Ready for onsite travel for knowledge transfer or related activities. Qualifications & Skills required
This is a critical service delivery role requiring experience with complex datacenter and cloud hosting environments. Pitney Bowes product hosting solutions leverage multiple technologies in complex data center and cloud environments that support multi-tiered high-availability applications. The role requires a talented self-directed individual with a strong work ethic and the following skills: Graduate or Postgraduate (preferably in computer science or related course) 2-4 years relevant experience in Product/Application Support L2 level
Excellent communication & leadership skills Willing to work in a 24*5 profile with weekend on-call support Platforms – Linux and Windows Extensive experience working on technologies such as IIS & Jboss Experience with monitoring tools such as, AppDynamics, SumoLogic Experience with Amazon Web Services (VPC, Subnets, Route tables, Virtual Gateway, Network ACLs, EC2, Elastic beanstalk, Elastic Container Service, Lambda, Security Groups, Cloudwatch,S3,Glacier,Route 53,Systems manager, Cloudformation or Terraform) Good understanding of Virtualization, Cloud Computing Knowledge of writing scripts, any scripting language would be preferred Hands on knowledge of tools such as Jenkins, Ansibel, DeployIT Hands-on experience with MSSQL and MySQL databases Good networking skills (Load Balancers, Firewalls, Clusters etc.) The Team Pitney Bowes, a global technology company, provides shipping & mailing solutions, data management software, and location intelligence offerings, powering billions of physical and digital transactions in the connected and borderless world of commerce.
