Job Summary:
The System Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, storage, and network components. This role involves ensuring high system availability, security, and performance, as well as providing technical support and troubleshooting for complex infrastructure issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and system software.
Manage and monitor IT infrastructure performance, security, and capacity.
Handle system upgrades, patches, and regular maintenance.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues to minimize downtime.
Configure and manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related services.
Manage virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
Support data backup, disaster recovery, and storage solutions.
Collaborate with network, security, and application teams for integrated solutions.
Document system configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.
Provide L2/L3 technical support for escalated IT issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
2–6 years of experience as a System Engineer / System Administrator.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls).
Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred / Good to Have:
Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, RHCE, VCP, CCNA.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Exposure to monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.).
Automation/scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
