Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Day-to-Day Accounting:
-
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in Tally ERP software.
-
Record all day-to-day accounting transactions such as purchases, sales, payments, and receipts.
-
Post and reconcile journal entries, ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions.
-
Verify and update the general ledger entries and ensure all information is complete and accurate.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
-
Process and track all accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments to vendors and service providers.
-
Process accounts receivable transactions, ensuring all customer payments are recorded correctly.
-
Prepare and maintain aging reports for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
-
Follow up on overdue payments from customers and ensure collections are completed efficiently.
3. Bank Reconciliation:
-
Reconcile bank statements with the company’s financial records to ensure all transactions are accounted for.
-
Identify discrepancies in bank accounts and resolve issues promptly.

Maintain records of reconciliations and ensure that all discrepancies are documented and resolved.
4. GST and Taxation:
-
Maintain records of Goods and Services Tax (GST) transactions in compliance with applicable laws.
-
Generate GST reports and ensure timely submission of GST returns.

Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including VAT, GST, TDS (Tax Deducted at Source), and other statutory payments.
5. Inventory and Stock Management:
-
Track and maintain accurate inventory records in Tally, ensuring proper documentation for stock movement.
-
Ensure accurate valuation of inventory and reconcile any discrepancies.

Update stock entries, purchase, and sales invoices as per the company’s inventory policies.
6. Financial Reporting:
-
Prepare financial reports, including trial balances, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.

Generate period-end and year-end financial reports as required by senior management.

Assist the finance team in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
7. Audit and Compliance:
-
Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards.

Maintain confidentiality of financial data and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
8. Data Entry and Documentation:
-
Input accounting data into the Tally ERP software accurately and timely.
-
Maintain hard and soft copies of financial documents, invoices, receipts, and other accounting records.
-
Organize and archive financial records in a manner that ensures easy access when required.
9. Collaboration with Other Departments:
-
Work closely with the finance and accounting team to ensure smooth financial operations.
-
Coordinate with other departments such as sales, purchase, and inventory to ensure accurate financial data.
-
Provide financial support to other teams as needed, including preparing reports or providing assistance with financial data.
