Job Description
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Plan lessons based on the Tamil Nadu State Board curriculum
2. Teach students in 6th grade - English, social science, & maths at our center
3. Assess students to track their understanding and provide learning tricks and tools to enhance their learning abilities
4. Be consistent in the commitment given
5. Conduct weekly sessions (one hour per session)

Yein Udaan is a grassroots organization in Chennai, established in 2017 to provide marginalized children with a safe space and diverse learning opportunities beyond school. Children in low-income contexts spend their time largely unsupervised after-school hours, while parents are away at work, making them vulnerably exposed to drugs, alcoholism, gang violence, and theft. Moreover, the children we work with have limited access to non-academic, holistic learning programs due to financial or socioeconomic constraints. In order to bridge these gaps, Yein Udaan works closely with children and their families in Chetpet's Dhobikana community, with the vision to set these children on life-altering trajectories.
