- Develop and oversee the development processes ensuring that the web development team develops systems/code to agreed timescales, quality and in line with their agreed priorities
- Manage the development aspects for the Jisc website and associated sites in line with the agreed priorities of the Jisc web group.
- Ensuring development standards are met at all times and security is maintained
- Work on projects, as agreed with the group infrastructure programme manager in the context of Jisc’s information management board, that provide web and portal services across the wider Jisc to assist in the integration of business processes
- Design, schedule and deliver new and enhanced portal applications according to priorities agreed with the group infrastructure programme manager and the manager of group web services
- Build, test, implement and maintain web-based applications/services, troubleshooting web application and infrastructure problems to reach a resolution as required
- Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve the quality of our website/portal and supporting infrastructure
- Ensure that technical documentation is created and maintained to a high standard
- Develop an understanding of existing information systems and consider opportunities for future development for web/portal solutions
- Keep abreast of new technology for future-proofing applications and infrastructure, sharing knowledge with colleagues as appropriate
- Carry out risk analysis of introducing new technology for development and infrastructure, and liaise with CSIRT (in-house team) to ensure suitable security as required on web developments
- Monitor the ongoing performance of web applications and infrastructure
- HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Jquery, Bootstrap, LESS and SASS
- Must have strong experience in front-end technologies such asAngular JS 1.x /2/ 4, ReactJs, NodeJs.
- Proficient in any modern front-end JS frameworks (React, Re-dux, SASS) middleware -SAGA
- Demonstrated experience consuming RESTful web services
- Participate in full Software Development Lifecycle, from analysis to testing specialized in all projects.
- Take part of multidisciplinary teams in collaboration with different Clients.
- Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Agile/Scrum methodologies practitioner.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to successfully articulate technology concepts to both business and technology audience
- Working experience as a consultant across several domains/firms with an exposure to different technology platforms and architecture models is a huge plus
