Job Description
Job Summary:
The Team Leader – Insurance is responsible for supervising and guiding a team of insurance advisors, sales executives, or customer service representatives in achieving departmental targets and maintaining high service standards. The role involves planning, motivating, training, and evaluating the performance of team members while ensuring adherence to compliance standards and company protocols.
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in the insurance sector (life, health, general, or motor), strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive results while fostering a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Supervision and Leadership:

Manage, coach, and mentor a team of 8–15 insurance advisors or executives.

Allocate tasks, monitor daily performance, and ensure achievement of individual and team KPIs.

Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, share feedback, and address challenges.
2. Sales Target Achievement (if in Sales Role):
-
Drive the team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual insurance sales targets (life, health, motor, etc.).

Monitor and support team members in generating leads, conducting customer meetings, and closing sales.

Analyze sales reports and implement strategies to improve team productivity and conversion rates.
3. Customer Service & Relationship Management (if in Servicing Role):

Ensure the team provides timely and accurate assistance to policyholders related to claims, renewals, endorsements, or grievances.

Oversee high-quality service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction and policyholder retention.

Address escalated issues and resolve customer complaints within TAT.
4. Training and Development:

Identify skill gaps and provide regular training sessions on product knowledge, sales techniques, compliance, and communication skills.

Organize onboarding and induction for new team members.

Motivate and engage team members to boost morale and overall performance.
5. Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure the team adheres to all regulatory and internal compliance standards (IRDAI norms, KYC norms, etc.).

Monitor accuracy in documentation, proposal forms, policy issuance, and premium collection.

Conduct audits and quality checks to identify potential process deviations.
6. Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.

Track lead pipelines, sales closures, or service requests depending on the team function.

Provide performance feedback to team members and report progress to higher management.
7. Coordination and Collaboration:

Collaborate with other departments such as underwriting, claims, finance, and IT to ensure smooth policy servicing or issue resolution.

Work closely with the Branch Manager or Regional Head to align on strategy and resource planning.
