Required Skillset:
TDM, IP and Ethernet design and deployment.
Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF)-based service design and implementation (UNI, EVC, ENNI, INNI, and circuit deployment).
CWDM/DWDM, ROADM, Switching, and Packet-Optical system design and deployment.
xPON and xDSL design and deployment.
Basic understanding of Fixed Wireless Broadband technology. Circuit analysis, design, and implementation including
updating and maintaining circuit inventories in the appropriate systems/databases.
Understand how to operationalize network designs.
Must be familiar with access and transport design to properly cost out network builds required to provide customer-requested services and their associated SLAs.
Preferred knowledge in Coriant/Infinera, Ciena, CISCO, Adtran, Calix and Nokia systems
Description of Work Performed
Respond to the Sales teams' requests to price the network build required to provide services from commercial portfolio.
This requires assessing the labor and material costs associated with the network design required to meet the
requested SLAs/services.
This requires selecting the network design using existing network elements or proposing and designing any new
network elements that are required to meet the SLA and service requirements proposed to the customer and then providing the material and labor costs associated with that design.
Data will be inputted into internal pricing system (Business Decision Tool, aka BDT) which is used to aggregate this pricing info with other pricing info so capital management team can determine financial viability.
Tools Exposure :
M6: Circuit Provisioning and Inventory System
DPI: Customer circuit/service inventorying system
Varasset: Project implementation system for downstream build teams
Infinium: detailed project creation system used to create and maintain material orders, asset tracking, labor hours, provisioning instructions, and corporate capital/expense tracking
FROGS: OSP GIS-based record-keeping platform
NMARS: Circuit and network element capacity tracking/reporting system
Vendor EMS systems
Various Microsoft Databases (IOF fiber databases, etc.)
Various Sharepoints (Network Architecture standards, etc.)
Microsft Suite of applications
Business Decision Tool (BDT): Pricing Request tool.
