Job Description
Designation: Tech Support Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
1. Hardware Diagnosis and Repair:

Diagnose hardware issues in Dell laptops, including motherboard failures, power-related issues, faulty screens, damaged keyboards, and battery problems.

Perform component-level replacement for defective laptop parts such as motherboards, RAM, hard drives/SSDs, touchpads, hinges, fans, display panels, and more.

Utilize standard hardware diagnostic tools and Dell proprietary utilities to identify faults.
2. Field Support and Onsite Service:
-
Travel to customer locations within the designated service area to provide onsite repair services.

Ensure timely resolution of hardware issues while maintaining high service quality standards.

Manage time effectively to meet daily schedules and attend to multiple service calls if needed.
3. Spare Part Handling and Documentation:

Maintain inventory of laptop spare parts, tools, and accessories required for field repairs.

Accurately document all repair activities, including problem diagnosis, parts replaced, and actions taken, in service management systems or job sheets.

Handle returned defective parts as per company protocols and assist in warranty claims or replacement procedures.
4. Customer Interaction and Service Excellence:

Provide clear explanations to customers regarding the nature of issues and the steps taken to resolve them.

Offer basic troubleshooting advice to users and educate them on preventive maintenance.

Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor during all customer interactions.
5. Collaboration and Escalation:

Work closely with the internal support team for technical assistance or escalations involving complex hardware faults.

Communicate with vendors or Dell support teams when required for advanced diagnostics or warranty approvals.
