Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operation and Monitoring
-
Operate pharmaceutical machinery such as capsule fillers, tablet press machines, blenders, granulators, blister packing machines, and coating systems, depending on the production line.
-
Ensure proper machine start-up, calibration, and shut-down procedures are followed as per batch manufacturing records (BMR).
-
Monitor production processes, machine speed, temperature, humidity, and pressure to ensure optimal performance.
-
Detect any mechanical issues or irregularities in real-time and escalate to the maintenance or engineering team as needed.
2. Assembly Processes
-
Perform manual or semi-automated assembly tasks including packing, labeling, and container sealing for tablets, capsules, syrups, or injectable products.

Maintain hygiene and aseptic techniques during the assembly and handling of pharmaceutical products.

Ensure correct usage and handling of primary and secondary packaging materials as per specifications.
3. Quality Control and Compliance
-
Conduct in-process quality checks (IPC) including weight variation, hardness testing, visual inspection, and sealing integrity, as required by the batch protocol.

Report and document any deviations, non-conformities, or quality concerns immediately to the Quality Assurance (QA) team.

Record data accurately in logs, BMRs, and other documentation forms to ensure traceability and audit readiness.
4. Documentation and Record-Keeping
-
Maintain production records, equipment usage logs, cleaning records, and batch processing documents with accuracy and in a timely manner.

Follow GDP (Good Documentation Practices) to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Support preparation for audits by maintaining clean, organized, and fully documented production areas.
5. Cleaning and Sanitization
-
Perform cleaning and sanitization of equipment, production areas, and machinery according to cleaning SOPs.

Conduct line clearance and area readiness checks before and after each production batch.

Ensure compliance with cross-contamination prevention protocols and cleanroom procedures.
6. Safety and Environmental Control
-
Follow all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) protocols strictly, including wearing prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
-
Identify and report potential safety hazards and actively participate in safety drills and training.
-
Handle pharmaceutical ingredients and hazardous materials with care and proper precaution.
7. Coordination and Communication
-
Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Planning teams to ensure uninterrupted production.

Communicate issues promptly to supervisors or team leaders for timely resolution.
-
Participate in shift handovers and daily briefings to stay aligned with production targets and updates.
8. Continuous Improvement
-
Suggest ideas to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

Participate in root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive action (CAPA) meetings, and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Engage in cross-training to support multiple machines or production lines.
Skills and Competencies

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical machinery and production environments.

GMP and Compliance Awareness: Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and industry regulations (e.g., WHO, USFDA, MHRA).

Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality, precision, and cleanliness.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve operational or equipment issues.

Documentation: Ability to maintain accurate and compliant records.

Teamwork: Collaborative approach in working with cross-functional teams.
