Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited invites applications from eligible candidates in the category of SC, ST, OBC (Non creamy Layer), PWD (HH & OH) and UR (General) for the posts of Technical Staff / Operatives in various trades 457 vacancies in skilled grades for appointment on Permanent basis.


1 Jr. QC Inspector (NDT-Mechanical)

Qualification: Must have passed SSC with full time three years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to this it is essential to have ISNT/ASNT Level II certification in Radiography interpretation, Ultrasonic Testing ,Magnetic particle testing and Dye penetrate testing .The minimum experience required is 2 Years in NDT of fabricated structure/Pressure Vessels/Piping etc. After Level-2 certification.

2 Sr. Medical Assistant (Male)

Qualification: Passed Diploma/ Degree in Nursing of 3 years duration after 12th Std done at Govt. or Govt recognized University/Institute & basic life support and Advance Cardiac life support certification of American Heart Association or equivalent. Two years experience of working in Govt./ Pvt Hospital with minimum 100 beded hospital/Industrial (OHS) set up and qualified in handling alone industrial emergencies / accidents / injuries / illnesses and specialized in advanced life support care & able to read ECG monitors and do intervention procedures. Only male candidates to apply. The experience certificate should be issued by the Personnel / HR department.

4 Jr Draughtsman(Mech.)

Qualification:  Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination in the Trade of ‘Draughtsman’ in Mechanical Stream.

5 Jr. Planner Estimator (Mech)

Qualification:  Must have passed SSC / HSC with full time three years Diploma with aggregate 55% marks or full time Degree with pass class in Mechanical (Mechanical/ Mechanical & Industrial Engg./Mechanical & Production Engg./ Production Engg.) or Marine Engineering in Examination conducted by Govt. recognized Technical Board / University.

6 Jr. Planner Estimator (Elct/ Electr.)

Qualification:  Must have passed SSC / HSC with full time three years Diploma with aggregate 55% marks or full time Degree with pass class in Electrical ( Electrical / Power Engineering / Electrical & Electronics/Electrical & Instrumentation) / Electronics (Electronics / Electronics & Communication /Allied Electronics & Instrumentation /Electronics & Telecommunication) or Marine Engineering in Examination conducted by Govt. recognised Technical Board / University.

7 Jr. QC Inspector ( Mechanical )

Qualification:  Must have passed SSC with full time three years Diploma with aggregate 55% marks in Mechanical ( Mechanical/Mechanical & Industrial Engg./Mechanical & Production Engg./Production Engg) or Marine Engineering in Examination conducted by Govt.of India recognised Technical Board.

8 Jr. QC Inspector (Elct./Elect.)

Qualification:  Must have passed SSC / HSC with full time three years Diploma with aggregate 55% marks in Electrical ( Electrical / Power Engineering / Electrical & Electronics/ Electrical & Instrumentation) or Marine Engineering in Examination conducted by Govt.of India recognised Technical Board.

9 Structural Fabricator

Qualification:  Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Structural Fitter / Fabricator or Fitter or Sheet Metal Worker.

10 Fitter

Qualification: Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Fitter / Millwright Mechanic / Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance.

11 Pipe Fitter

Qualification:  Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Pipe Fitter / Fitter/Plumber.

12 Electrician

Qualification: Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Electrician.

13 Electric Crane Operator

Qualification:  Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Electrician.

14 Electronic Mechanic

Qualification: Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Electronic Mechanic / Mechanic Radio & Radar Aircraft.

15 Painter

Qualification: Passed VIII with National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination (NAC) passed in the trade of Painter.

16 Carpenter

Qualification:  Passed VIII with National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination (NAC) passed in the trade of Carpenter.

17 Machinist

Qualification: Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Machinist.

18 Brass Finisher

Qualification:  Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Fitter or Machinist.

19 Compressor Attendant

Qualification: Passed SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of Millwright Mechanic / Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance.

20 Millwright Mechanic

Qualification: SSC or equivalent with National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Millwright Mechanic / Mechanic Machine Tool Maintenance”.

21 Composite Welder

Qualification:  Passed VIII with National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination (NAC) passed in the trade of Welder / Welder (Gas & Electric).

22 Rigger

Qualification:  Passed VIII with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination passed in the trade of Rigger/Fitter.

24 Fire Fighter

Qualification: Candidates must have passed SSC or equivalent with Diploma / Certificate in Fire Fighting of minimum six months duration from a Govt. recognised institute. Candidates must possess a valid Heavy Duty Vehicle Licence.

25 Chipper Grinder

Qualification: Chipper Grinder trade is not a designated trade under Apprenticeship Act. Candidates who have passed SSC and NAC in any trade and have worked in Shipbuilding industry as Chipper Grinder.

Note :  National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) Examination conducted by NCVT under the aegis of Directorate General of Employment and Training, Ministry of Labour, Government of India.

Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 33 years and minimum age limit not less than 18 years as on 1st April, 2016.

Pay & Allowances:

a) The candidates appointed in Skilled Gr-I (IDA-5) category will be placed at a Basic Pay of Rs.7500/- per month in the IDA Pay Scale Rs.7500-22430/-.

b) The candidates appointed in Semi-Skilled Gr-III (IDA-4A) category will be placed at a Basic Pay of Rs.7250/- per month in the IDA Pay Scale Rs.7250-21630/-.

c) The candidates appointed in Semi-Skilled Gr-I (IDA-2) category will be placed at a Basic Pay of Rs.6000/- per month in the IDA Pay Scale Rs.6000-19500/

Probation Period: Selected candidates will be on probation for six months

Application Fee: The candidates should fill in the application form in all respects in the prescribed format and submit the same along with all enclosures and Processing Fees of Rs 100/- (NonRefundable) needs to be deposited at any nearest branch of State Bank of India (SBI) by using challan form only. However candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD & Ex-servicemen category are exempted from paying the Processing Fee. The candidates are required to download the Challan Form available at the end of the advertisement. The candidate should fill up all the three parts (Banks copy, MDL Copy & Candidates copy) of the challan. Deposit cash of Rs.140/-(Including Bank charges of Rs.40/-) at the nearest SBI branch.
