Technician
Job Description
- Installation & Configuration: Installing broadband equipment (routers, switches, modems) and establishing connectivity to customer devices.
- Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshooting, identifying, and repairing cable, connectivity, and equipment faults in coordination with a Network Operations Center (NOC).
- Customer Service: Explaining equipment usage to customers, documenting service visits, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Technical Inspection: Surveying sites to determine the best cable routes and installing necessary wiring.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols, particularly with high-voltage lines, using proper tools (crimps, drills, meters). Field Engineer +4
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of TCP/IP, network topologies, and various cable types (fiber optic, coax, twisted pair).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to diagnose signal issues and hardware faults.
- Communication: Good verbal skills to explain technical issues to customers.
