Job Description:
This mid-level position combines technical proficiency in Coupa configuration, integrations, and troubleshooting with deep functional expertise in procurement processes. The role serves as a key partner to business users, IT teams, and procurement stakeholders, driving system optimizations, enabling efficient sourcing-to-pay workflows, providing advanced support as needed. The Coupa Specialist configures and continuously improves the Coupa platform across end-to-end Source to Pay (S2P) processes. The role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with global business and IT stakeholders. This role combines hands-on technical configuration and system design with strong business process understanding across Procurement and Finance.
Key Responsibilities (Configuration, Delivery & Improvement):
Own the delivery of Coupa enhancements and changes from requirements intake through design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
Configure and design Coupa modules including P2P, Sourcing, Contracts, Supplier Risk & Management, and Analytics (as applicable).
Design and maintain workflows, approval chains, updates for policy changes, tolerances, and user roles aligned to business and control requirements.
Translate business needs into fit‑for‑purpose Coupa solutions, recommending options and trade‑offs that balance usability, compliance, and scalability.
Partner with Procurement and Finance to assess current‑state S2P processes, challenge inefficient practices, identify gaps, and deliver system‑enabled improvements.
Support and enhance integration between Coupa and boundary systems including ERP platforms (Oracle EBS or similar) using APIs, connectors, flat files, and iPaaS tools.
Execute delivery with structure, including impact assessments, dependency awareness, risk identification, and release readiness.
Participate in Coupa upgrades and quarterly releases, including configuration updates, end‑to‑end testing, and UAT coordination.
Develop documentation, standards, and best practices to support adoption, consistency, and platform maturity.
Leverage standard enterprise delivery and governance practices to support appropriate prioritization and scoping to ensure outcomes are achieved and transparency to processes
Monitor recurring issues, trends, and system health metrics; proactively recommend permanent fixes or preventive improvements.
Support audit and compliance requirements by validating controls, configurations, and transaction integrity.
Key Qualifications and Skills
5+ years of experience in a techno‑functional role supporting Coupa or similar S2P platforms (Coupa experience required).
Strong hands‑on experience with Coupa configuration, administration, enhancement delivery, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of end‑to‑end Source‑to‑Pay processes, including requisitioning, approvals, POs, invoicing, payments, and supplier management.
Proven ability to assess issues across system, data, and process, propose scalable solutions, and execute changes with minimal supervision.
Technical skills include Coupa APIs (REST/SOAP), RQL or SQL‑based reporting, ERP integrations, and iPaaS tools.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in business terms and provide clear status and risk updates.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field; Coupa or procurement certifications are a plus.
