Job Description

Job Overview:

A Telecaller is responsible for handling outbound and/or inbound calls for a company’s sales, marketing, or support operations. The primary objective is to reach out to potential or existing customers to inform them about products or services, generate leads, resolve queries, provide support, and contribute to the overall growth of the organization.

The role requires excellent communication skills, a persuasive attitude, and a customer-focused approach. Telecallers are often the first point of contact between the customer and the company, and therefore play a crucial role in building trust and a positive brand image.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Making Outbound Calls:

    • Call potential customers from a provided database or leads.

    • Inform customers about the company’s products or services.

    • Follow prepared scripts to persuade prospects or provide information.

    • Convince customers to make a purchase, set appointments, or schedule meetings.

  2. Handling Inbound Calls:

    • Answer incoming customer calls professionally.

    • Address queries regarding products, services, or support.

    • Provide accurate information and resolve customer issues efficiently.

    • Escalate unresolved issues to the concerned department if required.

  3. Lead Generation & Conversion:

    • Generate and qualify leads through calls and follow-ups.

    • Maintain a daily record of calls, prospects, and conversions.

    • Follow up with interested customers until the final closure of the sale or service.

    • Meet daily/weekly/monthly targets as assigned by the team leader or manager.

  4. Customer Relationship Management:

    • Build a positive rapport with customers over the phone.

    • Maintain long-term relationships through regular interactions.

    • Collect feedback and handle complaints tactfully to maintain customer satisfaction.

  5. Data Entry and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of all conversations in the CRM or call log.

    • Update customer details, status of calls, and any necessary follow-up actions.

    • Ensure confidentiality of customer data.

  6. Adherence to Company Policies:

    • Follow company policies regarding call handling, sales techniques, and privacy regulations.

    • Maintain punctuality and attendance standards.

    • Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication in English, Hindi, or any regional language depending on job location.

  • Listening Skills: Ability to actively listen to customer needs and respond appropriately.

  • Convincing Ability: Persuasive skills to convert leads into sales or appointments.

  • Computer Literacy: Basic knowledge of using MS Office and CRM software.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of handling objections, resolving issues, and thinking on your feet.

  • Patience and Empathy: Calm and respectful behavior, especially while dealing with difficult customers.
