Experience: 10 - 15 years
Qualification
• A Master’s Degree or equivalent in Biodiversity, Sustainable landscape management, Forestry, Oceanography, Geoscience, Public policy, International relations, Social sciences, or a discipline related to the issues covered in the program
• Minimum 10 years of experience working in cooperation programs in developing countries, preferably in the area of biodiversity, land degradation, climate change, policy development, and implementation.
• An excellent verbal and written command of English is required.
Duration :
8 Weeks spread over 3 months from the date of contract signing
Skills
• Experience in developing, coordinating, and integrating regional mapping of ecosystems using Google Earth Engine (GEE), ArcGIS/QGIS, and ERDAS, statistical analysis, piloting landscape restoration, and fostering private sector participation.
• Demonstrable experience in developing landscape-level strategies on the environment, climate change, biodiversity loss, coastal ecosystem, deforestation, forest/land degradation, illegal logging, illegal/unreported fishing, and illegal wildlife trade.
• Familiarity with the development and implementation of policies and knowledge exchange on critical terrestrial and marine biodiversity area conservation issues.
• Experience supporting national governments and regional entities in the inventory and quantification of natural capital in critical landscapes and ecosystems.
• A proven track record in developing knowledge networks and partnerships to encourage sustainable business practices that reduce the ecological footprint.
• Proven ability to develop solid partnerships with high-level officials to achieve project results.
• Proven organizational, communication, mobilization, and change management skills.
